Maintenance Engineer

Ocala, FL

The World Equestrian Center, located in Ocala Florida is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team. 

Columbus Hospitality Management is hiring hotel, maintenance, and special skilled Engineers to work at the World Equestrian Center. These positions are responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and engineering tasks across property, including hotels, arenas, stables, food and beverage outlets, and all other areas.

Job Summary:

This role welcomes specialists of all skill levels, and work assignments will be tailored to the individual's expertise. All Engineering roles will work closely with the Chief Engineer or Supervisor to ensure all tasks including guest related maintenance issues, are completed efficiently, with clear communication during shift turnovers.

 Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs on various systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and pool systems, based on skill set and experience.
  • Receive and complete work orders from all departments, addressing maintenance needs promptly.
  • Conduct routine monitoring and log daily readings for heating, cooling, and water systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Repair and maintain HVAC systems, performing troubleshooting tasks as per skill level.
  • Carry out general maintenance tasks such as carpentry, painting, drywalling, and wallpapering, as assigned.
  • Execute preventative maintenance for guest rooms and stables under the "HoliCare" program.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs and assist with larger electrical projects based on skill level.
  • Complete additional tasks across the hotels and stables, as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Supervisors.

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
  • Proficiency in handling tools and equipment with hands and fingers is essential.
  • Good vision (close vision) is necessary for detailed work.
  • Must possess strong verbal communication skills and good hearing ability.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in maintenance or a related technical field, with assignments based on skill level.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, pool systems, and plumbing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems and perform repairs suited to your area of expertise.
  • Strong communication and guest service skills.
  • Basic computer literacy and math competency.
  • Attention to detail and strong follow-up skills.
  • Passion for delivering excellent service in a fast-paced luxury level service environment.
