Stewarding Supervisor

Ocala, FL

The Stewarding Supervisor reports to the Executive Steward and is responsible for overseeing and providing guidance to the stewarding team members to maintain the highest level of cleanliness. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas to include: walk-in coolers, floors, walls, rolling equipment, small wares, china, glass and silverware. 
  • Maintains a steady pace to meet demand for dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, utensils, etc. 
  • Observes careful work habits and conditions in the areas of sanitation, safety, breakage, and waste control. 
  • Assists the Executive Steward with the efficient and effective running of the Steward Department. 
  • Assists in supervising the Stewarding team ensuring all assignments and tasks are performed to World Equestrian Center standards and within the timeframe required. 
  • Responsible for storage, requisitioning of all materials and equipment. 
  • Taking and calculating of material stock (inventory) as required. 
  • Reports all breakages, cleaning supply consumption, etc. to the Executive Steward. 
  • Maintains all equipment to standard, i.e.: dishwashers, burnishes, etc., and reporting to maintenance any defects. 
  • Minimizes breakage of circulating equipment.

  Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Medium work-exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and /or 80 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. 
  • Ability to stand for long hours at the time. 
  • Convey information and ideas clearly. 
  • Maintain composure and objectivity under pressure. 
  • Effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary. 
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays. 
  • Effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and guests.
