Lead Counselor

Ocala, FL

The Lead Counselor is responsible for overseeing multiple Junior Counselors and ensuring the success of daily camp operations. They serve as the primary point of contact for campers, provide leadership, and implement structured activities that promote skill development, teamwork, and enjoyment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Supervise Junior Counselors, providing guidance and delegation.
  • Program Execution: Lead drills, games, and scrimmages while ensuring age-appropriate engagement.
  • Camper Management: Monitor behavior, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive camp culture.
  • Safety Oversight: Ensure all safety protocols are followed and respond to any incidents.
  • Daily Schedule Coordination: Keep activities running on time and adjust as needed.
  • Parent/Guardian Interaction: Provide updates or address concerns when necessary.
  • Incident Reporting: Document and communicate any injuries, behavioral issues, or unusual situations to camp leadership.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the camp leadership team and coaches to ensure a seamless experience.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in youth sports, coaching, or camp counseling.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire children in a soccer camp setting.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (college students or athletes preferred).
