Junior Counselor (Entry-Level Position)

The Junior Counselor is responsible for assisting with camp activities, supervising campers, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment. They support the Lead Counselor in executing the daily schedule, fostering teamwork, and maintaining a positive camp experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Camper Supervision: Oversee and engage with campers during activities, ensuring safety and participation.
  • Activity Support: Assist in running drills, warm-ups, scrimmages, and other soccer-related exercises.
  • Behavior Management: Help enforce camp rules and encourage sportsmanship and teamwork.
  • Setup & Cleanup: Prepare equipment, set up fields, and assist in keeping the camp area organized.
  • Camper Interaction: Be a positive role model, encouraging participation and motivation.
  • First Aid & Safety Awareness: Alert the Lead Counselor to any injuries, conflicts, or concerns.
  • Assistance with Transitions: Help guide campers between sessions, meals, and breaks smoothly.
  • Communication: Report any issues, needs, or observations to the Lead Counselor.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for soccer and working with kids.
  • High school students or recent graduates preferred.
  • Prior experience with youth sports, babysitting, or camps is a plus.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
