
Director of Environmental Services
The World Equestrian Center is currently seeking an Director of Environmental Service to join our team!
The Director of Environmental Service is responsible for leading and managing the World Equestrian Center Facilities, Crownwood, and Home Away from Home Attendants, ensuring a clean and sanitary environment for employees and guests. This role oversees all facility operations and housekeeping services in Home Away from Home and Crownwood, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency. The Director drives strategic planning, staff development, and compliance with operational protocols to enhance the overall guest experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for environmental services, ensuring top-tier cleanliness.
- Conduct routine scheduled and unscheduled inspections to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Respond to emergency situations, including biohazards, spills, and deep cleaning needs.
- Ensures the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and conduct.
- Prepare reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis as required.
- Maintain positive employee relations to include annual reviews, coaching, counseling, on-going training, development & hiring following company, state and federal regulations.
- Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the department's budget capital expenditure plan, forecasts, and objectives consistent with maintaining a first-class property in-line with the owner’s expectations.
- Follows safety protocols and OSHA standards.
- Maintain key inventory and controls.
- Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to team members.
- Monitors daily Time and Attendance of staff to prevent any mistakes with payroll for the department.
- Demonstrates positive leadership characteristics to lead and manage a team focused on quality, productivity, and guest satisfaction.
- Create and manage team member schedules.
- Create S.O.P and revise existing ones as needed.
- Ensure all equipment is properly serviced as required.
- Managing and scheduling routine deep cleaning.
- Attends required meetings including resume & event
- Have complete knowledge of all policies, standards and procedures of the department.
- Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, & holidays.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.

- Physical requirement for particular tasks includes but are not limited to standing for long periods of time, pushing, pulling, lifting, shoveling, reaching and grabbing
- As an MOD, Heavy workloads requiring the ability exert up to 100 pounds of force and the ability to regularly lift 55 lbs.
- Stand, walk for extended periods or for an entire work shift
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- A Minimum of 5 - 7 years previous experience in a high- volume in hospitality/ facility operations. Resort preferred
- Managing large volume of team members with multiple shifts.
- Must be able to work flexible hours include AM, MID, PM shift. Weekends and holidays are required to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Must have excellent leadership capability and customer/employee relations skills.
- Must possess excellent teaching, coaching and training skills.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of the department.
- Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions.
- Ability to work well under pressure, managing multiple zones events around WEC.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
