Sr. Human Resources Director

Ocala, FL

The World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida, is seeking a Senior Director of Human Resources with professional equestrian knowledge and luxury resort experience. This role provides strategic planning, creative solutions, and viable deliverables. The Senior Director will act as the culture advocate, supporting and encouraging all associates while managing HR programs such as recruitment, retention, compensation, policies, procedures, and training, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction on employment trends and strategies to maintain a highly skilled workforce.
  • Translate business strategies into HR priorities and align the HR Department with the property’s business strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with labor and employment laws.
  • Manage the drug-free workplace and safety programs.
  • Assist with unemployment and worker’s compensation claims.
  • Recommend changes in procedures and policies related to compliance and other HR areas.
  • Oversee benefits administration, newsletter preparation, salary administration, policy interpretation, and report preparation.
  • Supervise performance issues, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Advocate for both the company and its associates.
  • Develop strategies for sustaining associate engagement and organizational culture.
  • Maintain associate retention and recognition programs.
  • Lead the recruiting and hiring of new associates.
  • Provide orientation and professional development opportunities for associates.
  • Promote training programs and maintain Educational Assistance and Scholarship Programs.
  • Maintain communication boards throughout the property.
  • Perform annual competitive wage and benefit analysis.
  • Serve as a member of the Hospitality Guidance Team and participate in the property MOD program.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Two or four-year degree in human resources management.
  • Minimum of two years in a senior-level human resources management position.
  • Professional equestrian knowledge and luxury resort experience required.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.
