
Culinary Supervisor- Filo's
Job Summary:
The Culinary Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring an exceptional guest experience by overseeing kitchen operations in the Chef’s absence. This position is responsible for supervising kitchen staff, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and promoting the mission and vision of the World Equestrian Center through consistent leadership and service excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise and train kitchen staff in proper food preparation, equipment use, and safety protocols.
- Ensure consistent food quality by inspecting ingredients and monitoring preparation standards.
- Follow recipes accurately, applying basic math skills for measurements and portions.
- Manage inventory through requisitions, stock rotation, and proper storage practices.
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards across all kitchen areas.
- Support departmental standards and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Motivate and lead the team to maintain high morale, pride, and performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and health regulations.
- Schedule staff to maintain coverage while managing labor costs effectively.
- Monitor production flow and adjust operations to optimize efficiency and control expenses.
- Oversee receiving and storage of food products, ensuring freshness and proper labeling.
- Provide clear direction on operational and procedural matters.
- Stay informed about resort services, amenities, and culinary offerings.
- Be available for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
- Adhere to all safety rules and company policies as communicated by management.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, reaching, and performing repetitive tasks.
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum of 5 years of culinary experience in a high-volume or upscale kitchen environment.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification preferred.
