The World Equestrian Center – Ocala is seeking a motivated and reliable Cook III to join the culinary team at Genievieve’s, our elegant Italian dining concept located within the prestigious Equestrian Manor. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals beginning their culinary journey and eager to learn in a high-quality kitchen environment.
As Cook III, you will receive hands-on training and support while assisting with basic food preparation, station setup, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. This role is a steppingstone for growth within the culinary team and supports the World Equestrian Center’s core values of Quality, Class, and Distinction.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic food prep tasks such as chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients.
- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies under supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
- Support cooks and chefs during service with prep and plating assistance.
- Participate in training sessions to develop culinary skills and station knowledge.
- Assist with labeling, storage, and rotation of ingredients.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift during kitchen operations.
- Comfortable lifting and transporting items up to 50 pounds.
- Clear communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- No prior professional kitchen experience required; culinary school or food service experience is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.
- Basic knife skills and understanding of kitchen safety preferred.
- ServSafe Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
