Accountant – Payroll

Ocala, FL

The World Equestrian Center, located in Ocala Florida is seeking an Accountant to join our team.

The Accountant will perform and manage the accounting for all payroll transactions at the World Equestrian Center. The ideal candidate for this role will have an eye for attention to detail along with the ability and drive to do a complete and comprehensive analysis of every payroll transaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Complete bi-weekly payroll with all departments for all team members across the property.
  • Preparing all departments and restaurants tip pools.
  • Work with all team members and department managers to assure all time processing for every team PTO follows company policy.
  • Work closely with HR on all team member PAF actions.
  • Reconciling balance Sheet Accounts with supporting documentation.
  • Work with the team to automate the tip pool process and calculations.
  • Maintaining the integrity and consistency of the General Ledger to include balancing of all payroll related GL accounts.
  • Initiative to automate and drive efficiencies in the payroll process.
  • Calculating, reviewing, and posting Journal Entries to include Standard, Reversal and Adjusting entries.
  • Maintaining controlled access to company shared networks through third parties.
  • Managing and executing the Accounting Continuous Improvement Process and Development plan.
  • Performing all duties and special projects assigned by Payroll Manager, Controller and Director of Finance.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities 

  • Bachelor of Science degree with major or concentration in Accounting from an accredited university or equivalent of experience.
  • Entry level position with 1 to 3 years of experience as an accountant preferred.
  • Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems.
  • Well-developed participatory teamwork and administrative skills.
  • Well organized with strong analytical and reasoning abilities. Strong communication and presentation skills.
