Housekeeping Manager - Equestrian Hotel

Ocala, FL

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for supporting the daily shift operations of the housekeeping department at the Equestrian Hotel. This role ensures that property guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas are clean, well-maintained, and meet the highest standards of quality and cleanliness. The Housekeeping Manager conducts inspections, assesses staff performance, and enforces corrective actions to uphold property standards. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
  • Maintain standard of cleanliness and consistent guest experience
  • Assist in recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating housekeeping staff.
  • Maintain positive employee relations to include coaching, counseling, employment status
  • changes (transfer, promotion), on-going training, and development according to Columbus Hospitality’s Policy and Procedure.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness and adherence to standards.
  • Address and resolve any housekeeping-related guest complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate expectations, provide updates, and foster collaboration.
  • Ensure all Associates have proper supplies, equipment, and proper uniforms.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities; order replacements as needed.
  • Assist in purchasing based on Cost Per Occupied Room and keep within budget based on variable business levels.
  • Manage daily housekeeping shift operations, ensures efficient operations and compliance with safetyregulations and promote a safe working environment. 
  • Inspects guestrooms daily and provide feedback to staff.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and address repair or maintenance needs.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics, such as room turnover time and guest satisfaction scores.
  • Oversee the scheduling to ensure adequate staffing is in place keeping within budget restraints and established productivity standards.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule including Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Front Office, Food and Beverage, and Maintenance, to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with the laundry department to manage inventory and supply levels of linens.
  • Train staff on proper handling and disposal of chemicals and cleaning materials.
  • Create S.O.P.’s and revise existing ones as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5 + years management experience with at least 3 years in Luxury Hotel housekeeping management.
  • Previous Experience in a large 4-diamond property.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Accurate and attentive to detail.
  • Problem solving.
  • Computer knowledge.
  • Understand forecast and reports.
  • Properly implements new programs.
  • Good listener.
  • Demonstrates ability to assist and support others.
