Equine Marketing Intern

Ocala, FL

The World Equestrian Center, Ocala is seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join the Equine Marketing team for the Winter Spectacular Series. This position will assist in writing WEC weekly newsletters, press releases, email blasts and blogs. They will also contribute to producing and posting social media content. Candidate should have an easy-to-understand writing style, knowledge of AP style, and be familiar with equestrian sport, specifically hunter/jumper.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate on creating, producing, and posting content for social media.
  • Help facilitate media relations activities and communications, including helping to write press releases and blogs, setting up press conferences, and conducting interviews with athletes.
  • Assist with performance reporting and competitive analysis for social media and web platforms.
  • Catalogue photos and organize galleries on an event basis.
  • Assist with keeping website events calendar and pages up to date.
  • Fulfil tasks and perform projects set out by supervisors and management.
  • Assist and help department with needs and duties.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in the hunter/jumper industry, preferably as a content producer and/or media writer.
  • Must be willing to work nights and/or weekends. It’s anticipated that primary workdays will be Wednesday-Sunday, including evenings.
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling content across platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Exhibit strong relationship building, organizational skills, and time management.
  • The position may require walking/standing for an extended period.
