Banquet Supervisor

Ocala, FL

The Banquet Setup Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preparation and arrangement of banquet facilities in accordance with event specifications and organizational standards. This role involves coordinating staff, ensuring setups are completed on time, maintaining quality, and meeting the specific needs of clients for successful events. The supervisor will act as a liaison between event planners and the banquet team to ensure seamless execution of events.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of banquet setup staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Coordinate setup logistics in line with event orders, including arranging tables, chairs, stages, and other equipment.
  • Ensure that all areas are set up accurately and efficiently, meeting company quality and safety standards.
  • Oversee the teardown and clean-up process post-events, ensuring the banquet space is reset for future use.
  • Communicate effectively with event planners or coordinators to accommodate specific client needs.
  • Manage inventory levels of banquet equipment and supplies, reporting any deficiencies or maintenance needs.
  • Conduct regular inspections of setup areas to ensure they meet the required aesthetic and functional criteria.
  • Address any challenges or issues that arise during setup and execute solutions promptly.
  • Maintain a detailed setup schedule and coordinate with other departments to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Prepare reports and summaries of event setups for management review.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in banquet setup or related role, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to [insert weight] pounds as required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • Familiarity with event planning software and basic computer skills.
