Senior Director of Sales

Ocala, FL

The Senior Director of Sales is responsible for delivering strategic sales vision, and leadership for the World Equestrian Center. Responsibilities include developing, facilitating, and overseeing the sales, events, and special events teams, managing existing client relationships while generating new business, and providing expertise on competitive set surrounding sales related activities, tradeshows, and events. This position will also be responsible for hiring, training, leading, motivating and maximizing the performance of the sales and events teams.

The Senior Director of Sales central focus is on direction and development of sales, catering and special events and is responsible and accountable for top line revenue with sensitivity to bottom line results for the World Equestrian Center Complex.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with professional referral sources.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term strategic plans and initiatives to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Conduct tours with prospective guests, showcasing the community and its services to effectively close sales.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor strategies to adapt and innovate our sales approaches.
  • Collaborate with the executive team on pricing strategies and promotional offers.
  • Manage the sales pipeline efficiently, ensuring all leads are followed up on promptly and accurately.
  • Report on sales activities and outcomes, providing insights and recommendations to improve performance.
  • Meets or exceeds set goals in room revenues, catering revenues, and market share.
  • Operates the Sales Department within established sales expense budget.
  • Meets and greets onsite contacts.
  • Supervises, administers, and ensures timely completion of all activities of the Sales Department.
  • Manage customer and internal sales related communications to optimize quality of service, business growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of existing sales professionals.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 10 years of sales management experience with 7 years minimum as a department head, required in a hotel and convention setting.
  • Previous experience opening a hotel preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented, have ability to communicate well with all levels within and outside the organization, and be able to problem-solve with team members and guests.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer skills include typing, use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, and Microsoft Publisher.
  • Proficient in Delphi preferred.
  • Ability to effectively interact in a professional manner with management team, guests, and owners.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, computer skills and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel to conferences and site visits with clients as needed.
